So I read this article today:
http://thebatavian.com/howard-owens/kathy-hochul-drops-visit-batavian/25105
I found this:
"I decided to run for office because I want to have a say in the policies that effect local businesses," she said.
As for what she could do in Congress, she said tax codes and laws that give any incentive for manufacturers to move jobs overseas need to be reviewed and repealed if necessary.
Does that include the minimum wage? How about adaptation of the Fair Tax? Seeing as she hates Walmart, I will guess no.

Liars
So today I watched the YNN interview of Hochul. The only thing I pulled from it is that she is a better liar than representative of western New York values.
She is very disingenuous. She thinks she helps businesses because "all businesses in Erie County start in the County Clerks Office." HEY! DUMMY! GOVERNMENT IS A HINDRANCE TO BUSINESS. YOU HELPED NOTHING!
I really hope that she loses. We don't need another lackey sent to Congress for Nancy Pelosi to walk with through the crowds of tea party members lying about racial slurs.

Dems pick their contender
So yesterday the dems announced their candidate for the 26th Congressional District.
As expected they selected Kathy Hochul. Now, it should be known that she doesn't live in the district. Her husband was selected by Obama at the behest of Schumer to be a US Attorney. How much different are husband and wife?
So both of our candidates are upper income, Erie County politicians. How exactly are they supposed to understand the average person in Western NY?
Don't give me this sob story of coming up from a trailer, or your tough life of the family business selling for millions. Neither woman is in connection with the common man. And neither are the other potential candidates.
So my suggestion is to find who supports you the best, Corwin or Hochul and vote for them. The other two have no real chance.

Hypocritical GOP?
So I was reading The Batavian, as I often do, and I came across this article.
Erie County GOP chairman attacks possible Democratic candidate for NY-26
Now, as a registered republican, it's hard for me to write this article. But I went through the selection process to replace Chris Lee. I was the last to be interviewed. I wonder if I was truly considered. Jane Corwin was selected. And it seems as if the interview process was a formality. Corwin was selected because of her family's cash. I understand that. But at the same time, the country is ready for new blood with normal man's outlook.
But that's not what this is about.
In the article this quote is found from Erie Country Chairman Nick Langworthy:
"This is a charade, it's a machination, they've known from the beginning that she's their candidate if she wants to run, but they're using this quirk in the law allowing her to take double the amount of special interest money that she normally would."
This is amazing to me that he can say this. Corwin was the front runner for the GOP form the beginning. My assemblyman that could have seriously challenged her and expressed interest in the position, mysteriously removed his name from consideration. There were other great choices for the nomination (not me, I don't hold a candle to most of them when it comes to political experience).
But there is something to his quote that somewhat makes it valid. Apparently because the dems waited, their candidate can be given up to $5000 from each person who wants to donate.
